Hello Win Column, Win #3: Rangers Make Pavano Wish He Was Back on the DL, Win 12-9

Win #3: Rangers 12, Indians 8: Game Recap, Boxscore

And now let's hear from the losing locker room, whose pitchers just gave up 27 runs in the season's first series:

Game Three: Rangers 12, Indians 8 from Lets Go Tribe

"By the end of the second inning the Rangers had already amassed 9 runs, effectively ending the game. Some of the problems in the early going were Carl Pavano and then also there was an issue with Carl Pavano and one other thing that went wrong was Carl Pavano . . . . It's hard to find anything to like in Pavano's outing. He was miserable. Still, there might be a miniscule reason for optimism in the fact that he was pitching against Texas in Texas."

Texas Pounds Carl Pavano to Complete Three-Game Sweep of Cleveland Indians from The Cleveland Sun Times

"All Eric Wedge wants to do is manage a normal baseball game where he doesn't have to use a full-court press for nine innings just to get back to even . . . It certainly didn't happen in their first three games at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. And it definitely didn't happen Thursday, when Carl Pavano gave up nine runs in one inning as the Rangers swept the Indians out of Texas, 12-8 . . . Texas outscored the Indians, 29-14 . . . 'When you play Texas, you know you've got to score runs,' said Sizemore. 'Texas puts pressure on your defense and pitching.'"

Texas Sweep Indians, Carl Pavano Smashed from Deep Left Field

"The pitching was so bad that Andruw Jones had three hits. I think Jones batted about .140 last season. Get on the plane and get out of dodge ASAP. Brandon McCarthy did enough to win the game for Texas. McCarthy lasted five innings and left the game with an 11-3 lead. He struck out the side twice in his five inning effort."
